His Blood.
When everyone else wanted temporary satisfaction, God wanted you — eternally, completely, at the cost of His Son's blood.
Caiaphas, Pilate, Herod, the crowd — they all got what they wanted the day Jesus was condemned. The priests protected their territory. Pilate avoided political conflict. Herod was entertained. The crowd chose Barabbas. They were satisfied, but only for a moment. Their victories were hollow because they missed what God was doing: satisfying not temporary desires but an eternal need — yours and mine.
Jesus wasn't trapped on that cross. He chose it. When Pilate claimed power over Him, Jesus said, 'You have no power unless it came from above.' The whip, the thorns, the nails — all of it was willingly endured because without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin. The thief beside Him understood: 'We deserve this. But this man is innocent. Remember me.' And Jesus does remember. He shed His blood so God could remember us.
This isn't a funeral. It's a declaration that His blood was not shed in vain. We might deserve whatever comes our way, but because of what Jesus did on Calvary, we have eternal security. One day every knee will bow before the King of Kings — not because of force, but because His kingdom is not of this world. It's built on sacrifice, not territory. On love, not votes. Today, as we partake, we ask: God, remember us. Keep the channel open. Let His blood wash us daily so Jesus can reign in us.
