Even Jesus, the only truly innocent person, faced the worst injustice imaginable. God didn't stop the whip or the nails — not because He didn't care, but because He had an eternal plan that required suffering. Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness. Jesus chose the cross so you could be remembered. God's goodness isn't always about stopping pain; sometimes it's about redeeming it.

The thief on the cross had lived a criminal life — he admitted he deserved his punishment. But in his final moments, he turned to Jesus and said, 'Remember me.' Jesus didn't ask for a clean record or perfect behavior. He just said, 'Today you will be with me in paradise.' Forgiveness isn't about deserving it. It's about His blood, shed once for all. Come back to Him daily. He remembers you.

You're not alone. Even the religious leaders of Jesus' day were more concerned with protecting their territory than connecting with God. Going to church can become a hollow routine if we're not letting Christ reign in our hearts. Paul said, 'I die daily' — meaning every day we have to let go of self and surrender to Jesus. Ask Him to baptize you anew with His Spirit. Religion is empty. Relationship is everything.

When Pilate asked if Jesus was a king, Jesus said, 'My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my people would fight.' His kingdom isn't built on political power, votes, or defending territory. It's built on sacrifice and love. The world fights for temporary wins. Jesus won eternally by laying down His life. One day every knee will bow — not because He conquered by force, but because He conquered by grace.

Hebrews 9:22 says without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. Jesus' blood isn't just a historical event — it's the only remedy for guilt, shame, and separation from God. It's the balm in Gilead, the healing that reaches your deepest wound. When you feel unworthy, His blood speaks: 'You are mine. You are forgiven. You are remembered.' It never loses its power.

Read the heart of this message

Caiaphas, Pilate, Herod, the crowd — they all got what they wanted the day Jesus was condemned. The priests protected their territory. Pilate avoided political conflict. Herod was entertained. The crowd chose Barabbas. They were satisfied, but only for a moment. Their victories were hollow because they missed what God was doing: satisfying not temporary desires but an eternal need — yours and mine.

Jesus wasn't trapped on that cross. He chose it. When Pilate claimed power over Him, Jesus said, 'You have no power unless it came from above.' The whip, the thorns, the nails — all of it was willingly endured because without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin. The thief beside Him understood: 'We deserve this. But this man is innocent. Remember me.' And Jesus does remember. He shed His blood so God could remember us.

This isn't a funeral. It's a declaration that His blood was not shed in vain. We might deserve whatever comes our way, but because of what Jesus did on Calvary, we have eternal security. One day every knee will bow before the King of Kings — not because of force, but because His kingdom is not of this world. It's built on sacrifice, not territory. On love, not votes. Today, as we partake, we ask: God, remember us. Keep the channel open. Let His blood wash us daily so Jesus can reign in us.

  • HEBREWS 9:22 · KJV
And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
  • ISAIAH 53:6 · KJV

And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
  • PHILIPPIANS 2:10-11 · KJV
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
